Rotana began his career as a fitness instructor and personal trainer in 2001. In 2004 he completed a Diploma in Remedial Massage, deepening his understanding of the human body and work-related injuries. By 2006 he was lecturing at the Australian Institute of Fitness and Australian Institute of Massage, becoming head lecturer of massage in 2007. He went on to complete a Bachelor of Health Science in Clinical Myotherapy in 2014 and lectured in Musculoskeletal Pathology at Victoria University the same year.
